Assembly Guide
Bed Frame
For our UK-made bed frames with either a slatted base or a black flat board (non gas-lift).
Six steps, around 10 minutes, easier with two people.

Before you start
- Unpack all components and check them against the parts list.
- Work in a clean, clear space, ideally on a carpet or blanket, so grit or sharp edges can't mark or tear the fabric.
- Assembly is easier with two people, particularly when lining up the rails.
- The middle bar is packed between the two side rails.
Tools you will need
10mm spanner
For the side rail and middle bar bolts. Nothing else is needed.

Step-by-step assembly
1
Attach the side rails to the headboard
Stand the headboard against the wall. Take the two side rails out of their packaging and set the middle bar to one side for now.
- Line up the metal bracket on the end of each rail with the fixing holes in the headboard.
- Push a bolt and washer through the bracket into the headboard.
- Hand-tighten only at this stage, so there is room to adjust later.
2
Attach the footboard
Bring the footboard to the open end of the two side rails. Line up the brackets with the fixing holes, then fit the bolts and washers and hand-tighten.
Two-person tip
One person holds the footboard steady while the other fits the bolts.
3
Fit the middle bar
Place the middle bar down the centre of the bed, running from the headboard to the footboard, and bolt each end into place.
- If your middle bar has a support foot, check it sits flat on the floor.
4
Square up and tighten
Check the frame is square and the rails sit level, then tighten every bolt with the 10mm spanner.
Don't over-tighten
Tighten firmly, but over-tightening can damage the fittings or the fabric.
5
Fit the base
Follow whichever option matches the base included with your order.
SLATTED BASE
Slats
Lay the slats across the frame so each end rests on the side-rail ledges and the middle rests on the middle bar. Space them evenly from headboard to footboard. If your slats are joined with straps, simply unroll them across the frame.
FLAT BOARD
Black flat board
Lay the black flat board on top of the frame, smooth side facing up. Rest the edges on the side-rail ledges and, if it comes in two pieces, sit the join over the middle bar. Check the board sits flat without rocking.
6
Add your mattress
Place the mattress centrally on the base. Your bed is now ready to use.
Safety
- Keep bolts, washers and packaging away from children and pets.
- Do not stand or jump on the bed.
- Use on a flat, level floor only.
Care
- Re-check the bolts after the first week, then every few months.
- Vacuum fabric with a soft brush attachment and spot-clean with a damp cloth.
- Keep away from direct heat and prolonged sunlight.
Tip: keep the 10mm spanner and any spare bolts in a labelled bag, in case you need to tighten the fittings again in future.
